SunSystems and Professional Advantage Database Schemas

Understanding the Data Behind SunSystems and Professional Advantage

Pearce Ross has extensive knowledge of the underlying database structures used by Infor SunSystems and Professional Advantage.

Understanding the structure, contents and relationships between the underlying data tables enables us to extract, analyse, combine and re-map information to meet specific business requirements.

Business-Specific Data Extracts

We can create business-specific extracts from SunSystems and Professional Advantage, combining information from multiple sources to provide the data required for reporting, analysis, migration and integration.

Extracts can be created for integration with third-party systems such as Microsoft Business Central, as well as Data Warehouses and Data Lakes.

This allows financial and operational information to be made available outside the core financial system without relying on manual extraction and manipulation of data.

Data Extraction, Analysis and Remapping

Our knowledge of the underlying database structures allows us to efficiently extract and analyse bulk data and, where required, re-map information to reflect changes in business requirements.

This can be particularly useful when migrating historical information, restructuring data, investigating existing transactions or preparing information for another system.

SunSystems Database Structures

The complexity of the underlying data structures varies considerably between versions of SunSystems.

A typical SunSystems 4 installation contains around 30 SQL table objects for a single database/business unit configuration.

SunSystems 6 installations can contain between 650 and 750 SQL table objects, depending on the configuration and modules installed.

Depending on the modules installed, Professional Advantage data can be held in more than 500 SQL table objects.

Understanding the Relationships Between Data

Simply having access to database tables is not enough. The important part is understanding what the data represents and how the individual tables and records relate to one another.

We understand the data structures, contents and relationships between the underlying data tables. This enables us to provide business-specific extracts that can bring together information from multiple sources and present it in a form that is useful to the organisation.

Audit Trail and Reconciliation

Where data is being migrated or transformed, we can provide a full audit trail of the migration path from source to target.

Source and target records can also be reconciled, providing confidence that the required information has been transferred accurately and that the relationship between the original and resulting data can be demonstrated.

Data Integration

Our understanding of the underlying SunSystems and Professional Advantage data structures also enables us to support integration with other business applications.

This includes creating automated extracts for third-party systems, Data Warehouses and Data Lakes, helping organisations make better use of the information held within their financial systems.

Technical Knowledge With Business Understanding

Our experience goes beyond understanding the technical structure of the database. We understand the financial information contained within SunSystems and Professional Advantage and how that information is used by finance and operational teams.

This combination of technical and financial systems knowledge allows Pearce Ross to develop practical data solutions that are aligned with the organisation's business requirements.

Bridging the gap between Finance, IT and the operational systems that support your organisation.
